Saturday July 10 and Sunday July 11th.

Saturday was a home day with yard work and other projects. Sunday we overslept and missed church which we regret. It’s Rolling Thunder Chapter meeting day. We saddled up at 1 pm and before we could start the bike we heard loud Thunder North of us and dark clouds were rolling it. I looked at the radar and pop up storms were all around us to the North, East and West. We were heading West, but took the long way South and came in under and behind the storms. Turn out was a little light for today’s meeting, but we did have three new guests that want to join and one female member that received her patch today. I have attached photos of the table ceremony we try to do at the beginning of each meeting.

A WWII veteran whose remains have been identified is being buried at the Salisbury National Cemetery next week and a Korean War vet will be buried in August.

Following the meeting the Carolina Girl wanted to go to Red Lobster for an early dinner. Is it me or is Red Lobster just overpriced for what you get?

Todays ride was just 62 miles total and the bike ran very well. Stay tuned for next weekends report which stands to be FUN!

Beautiful flowers in front of the Red Lobster.

Red Lobster is nothing that is used to be! I try to avoid chain restaurants as much as possible.

It's Friday July 15th. The Spiked Olive is loaded and ready. Just waiting on the Carolina Girl to get home.

Yeah it's HOT at 91 degrees and we're promised to get rinsed off Saturday and Sunday but we are riding. May play the dodge the thunderstorm game.

Stay tuned as we have an interesting stop today. And tomorrow should be fun. I'll just call it a "YouTube" day for a teaser.

Giddy Up

Day 1 Friday July 15th

This little girl came out of the woods to see us off.

We rode 255 miles and ended up in Knoxville.

I have long wanted to stop at Bush's Beans. They close at 4pm and we did not arrive until 5pm. So pictures from the outside only.

This was the original homested.

Looking across the road to the factory.

We rode 255 miles

Riding though Statesville, Hickory and Asheville it was warm. The traffic was heavy and got worse when we arrived at the junction of I40 and I26.

It was slow go for about 15 miles until we hit the Gorge.. Like magic the temperature still showed in the 80's but the air felt so cool! The bike was running very well and the Carolina Girl committed on how good it sounded and how much she enjoyed the acceleration up the mountain!

It's almost 5am here in Knoxville as I type this on Saturday morning. I just looked out the window and we are dry right now. The radar is clear but the weatherman says we will probably get wet today.

We will be meeting up with some folks we have not met before, but you guys may know them.

Stay tuned.

Unfortunately not, I was ready and willing. They have some good looking things on the online menu. Maybe we’ll make it back there soon for fuel! LOL

Day 2

Saturday July 17th

We woke up to dry but overcast skies today in the Turtle Creek area of west Knoxville. Had a wonderful dinner the night before and got a good night's rest.

Walked across the street from.the hotel to Mimi's for a FANTASTIC breakfast. The food, service and atmosphere were all great.

We met a young man in the hotel parking lot as we returned that rode his Road Glixe all nightingale from Indianapolis to make the event. He was wet and the hotel would now allow him to check in. I told him we were leaving, our room was clean and there were fresh towels. He could come up and take a shower and change clothes if he wanted to. He jumped at the offer and we told him to close the door when he left and we'll see him at Bootleggers HD.

We rolled out of the hotel at 9am this morning. Stopped for fuel and arrived at Booeggers Harley Davidson at 9:30.

What brought us to town was an event and ride put together by "Traveling Tall" from YouTube fame. He invited other YouTubers including Queen Sit from St.Louis, Robert Simmons, Pay it Forward, Rusty Bagger and BarberCVO19. We watch these guys channels aot of like them.. Thought it would be fun to get in a ride and meet some new folks.
