We love the Inn and resturant in Little Switzerland. That is a million dollar view. Had a guy tell me that he thought the Linville Viaduct was closed for repairs. Did you find that to be the case?

Thanks for confirming. I remember when that link was completed. Guess it’s time for maintenance.

Hopefully that will be soon! If you need any info on this area I’m glad to help. Allow plenty of time. Lots to see and so many wonderful roads to ride.

He did not mention that at all. Said he works or did work for AT&T. He mentioned he has owned several BMW’s over the years and used to own a Road King way back in the 90’s. He got a smoking deal on the one he was riding. Said a doctor bought it new and put 1300 miles on it and just parked it. He got it for $11k and has 4K miles on it now. Looked brand new.

Excellent time for a ride for sure with that high sitting over us......Wife and I are out as well.....Except we went the other way from y'all.....West.....thru Maggie, Cherokee and in Gatlinburg right now.....

Have you ever been up to the original homeplace/farm at Stone mountain, at the base of the rock face?.....There is a dirt road you can ride up if you dont want to hike.....

Yes sir, beautiful weather. We were in Maggie Valley about a month ago now. Enjoy your trip. We need to get together one day with nobodyknowsme!

No, I am not familar with the homeplace at Stone Mt. We have actually hiked up the left side trail and back down the right side near the water fall. But that was a long time ago.

Happy Memorial Day

Thank you all who serve now and to our wonderful veterans. God Bless

This post is looking back to 2009 when we made our first trip to DC for Rolling Thunder. We went with a group called "Ride to the Wall Southern Style". They started down in Florida and worked their way up to NC. We joined at Tilley's Harley Davidson in Statesville, NC. Rolled our with180 bikes for a Police escorted ride all the way to our hotel in Crystal City. We had a few gas stops. They had a five bike crew riding ahead of us and they blocked off all the pumps and we rolled through one after another and they filled each of us up and then we got off the bikes for a break. The food and gas were all included in the fee. That is the way to get 180 bikes through in a hurry! The Iredell County Sheriff's department along with a couple of other officers using Tilly's HD police bikes lead the way. We had a wonderful time as this was our first trip to DC. We were hooked, went back 8 times and the last two as members of Rolling Thunder.

I hope you enjoy these pictures. Our big lunch stop for the trip was at Shenandoah HD.

God Bless
