Our next stop was at the Blue Ridge Music Center. I am so glad to see this open again. The museam was still closed but concerts will resume on June 5th. They have attracted as many as 5000 people there in the past for a concert,

Mile Marker 213 - Blue Ridge Music Center celebrates Blue Ridge music and musicians, a significant strand of American musical culture alive and thriving in the region. Includes a visitor center, museum, outdoor amphitheater, and trails.

We rolled over I-77 at Fancy Gap continuing North and the next stop was ar Mabry Mill. The water was spinning the wheel and there were a lot of people waiting on the porch to get into the restaurant.

Mile Marker 176.1 - Mabry Mill was run by E.B. Mabry from 1910 to 1935. A trail leads you to his gristmill, sawmill, and blacksmith shop and to other exhibits. Old-time skills are demonstrated in the summer and fall.

Our final stop on the Parkway was at mile marker 165 where it crosses Hwy 8 at Tuggles Gap. We stopped at the resturant for a late lunch before heading back South toward home. The bikes just kept rolling in and out. The burger basket there cannot be beat with the large steak fries!

165.2 - TUGGLE GAP. VA 8 crossover. 6 mi. north to floyd; 20 mi. to Christiansburg. 6 mi. east to Woolwine; 16 mi. to Fairystone State Park - swimming, boating, picnicking, camping. Alt. 2,752.

There are a few options for the ride back home but I elected to take Hwy 8 South. It is a steep curving road that drops in elevation FAST. we ran down and then leaned right on VA103 and went to Mount Airy "Mayberry". from there it was Hwy 601 through the Yadkin Valley.

Great weekend ride and always awesome to explore on the Parkway.

Thanks for riding along with us this weekend. Hope you enjoyed. If you missed the Maggie Valley ride where we did the Rattler or the Myrtle Beach Bike Rally look a few pages back.

Ride safe

I remember riding by that place last year on our BRP trip. It was a place my wife had kind of set her sights on for a stop but due to timing we didn’t. I’ll bet it was probably closed anyway.

Yes was shut down due to covid. Glad to see the concert schedule opening again on June 5th. The museum should open next month also.

You hit some of my wife and I's favorite stops along the Parkway. We spent most of a morning a few years ago seeing the three church's, fresco's.
