Default Accident on the Snake

Guys I use Waze daily for work, for personal travel and while on the bike.

The benefit on the bike is hearing if there are hazards on the road ahead, police of course and avoiding accidents and traffic.

The last place I expected to hear it warn me was on the Snake. But some kind considerate person took time to post a real dangerous situation.

Just as I heard this warning we were in a right hand curve and there was oil dry everywhere.

I was prepared, but it was unnerving for sure.

While speaking with the lady at the General Store we learned this was a fresh accident from just this morning. A bike hit a pickup truck head on.

Other details where unknown including who was at fault and the condition of the rider.

She really did not want to give details.

Default Arriving at Shady Valley

The traffic on the Snake was incredibly light. But we where shocked to see over 60 bikes at the store.

Turns out there was a benefit ride for a fallen brother from Tennessee. Great turn out.

Time for a little snack.

Looks like a snake, right!

The group leaves.

About 90% of the people were on the group benefit ride. They put on a show rolling out!

The bike the guy went down on. It did not look to bad. He was out late, it was raining hard and he hydroplaned.

The store was empty when these guys rolled out.

Default Hwy 91 to Johnson City

Time to leave Shady Valley.

Great stop and we enjoyed speaking to several of the folks on the benefit ride.

I've done every leg of The Snake except for Hwy 91. Today is the day. I'll say I think it may be my favorite.

Pro-Action is the best hands down!

Default Wrecking Crew HD

Our next stop was at Wrecking Crew HD in Johnson City TN.

Our first time visiting this dealership.

Nice dealership stop.

They also gave me some nice maps of the area.

The Carolina Girl got a new shirt and I picked up some Poker Chips!

Default Lunch time

Breakfast has worn off, my snack was gone and it's time for lunch.

The dealership recommended Tulips which was close by.

After a great lunch it was time to roll back home to DC. Davie County!

We ran Hwy 321 back to Hwy 421, back through Boone, under the BRP amd took a break in Wilkesboro.

Our 2010 Ultra back in the day was the same color as this guys bike. Black & Silver.

Default The Station

Back in downtown Mocksville at the Station!

We met some friends there and were running about an hour late.

Bike Night is every third Saturday. It was slow given graduation and Fathers Day weekend.

Rolling out for home.

We arrived back home just before dark. It was a 12 hour day and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Total mileage was 294.1

Thank you Lord for a wonderful day!
