Several years ago we were in Kitty Hawk and being that it was "my night" to choose the place for dinner I picked the Black Pelican (I had seen it on a TV food show).
My wife and the other couple ordered "whatever" but I just ordered the "Chef's Special".
It wasn't grits (more like a gumbo?) with shrimp and it was "crazy good"!

We do "spicy, cheesy" grits made with milk and topped with sauteed onions, red peppers and crumpled bacon bits at home and they're good but NOTHING like what I got in Kitty Hawk.

Boy you can’t be throwing us homeboys under the dang bus . Lol. I was gonna ride down today but I had so much to do and I’m leaving for Nashville Monday for a convention. Maybe next weekend if the weather permits. If I didn’t have to pack tomorrow I’d be riding down. Y’all have fun. I’m cooking some yardbirds on the grill and enjoying a Crown on the rocks. Just got back from Charleston yesterday. Busy week

Late Anniversay dinner.

A week late, but better late than never. The Carolina Girl wanted a meal on the beach and she loves oysters.

She had Conch Fritters, She Crab Soul and a oysters salad!

I has salmon which was excellent.
