Insta360 x3
The Carolina Girl and I have made our reservations for a long weekend in Maggie Valley for Thunder in the Valley. We hope to capture even better pictures than before.
I have ungraded my trusty GoPro 5 (yeah 5) which has served me well for many years now to a new Insta360 camera.
Below you'll see a handle bar mounting option a buddy suggested. This is how he runs his and it does a good job. We shot some video while at Rob Harper's BBQ weekend at Emerals Isle which looks cool. The Carolina Girl was holding the handle and she really doesn't like doing that. I ordered this universal mount.
Now I just have to learn how to both edit it for video and to extract still photos.
Any tips. Tricks, pointers are welcome. All I really know right now is to not put your target photo point in the stitch line.
Stay Tuned.

We logged a whopping 15 miles this even on the Belinda. The Carolina Girl did all the yard work while I was in South Carolina enjoying lunch with our daughter.
Lindsay and I met in Columbia near the state capital at Mark’s Grill for lunch. Yes, I did work prior. Had to leave home this morning at 6am to be in Lancaster, SC for an early meeting.
When I got home the Carolina Girl was ready for a cruise and we went to one of our favorite local places, The Station. They were having trivia night and the Taco truck was there this evening. A good time had by all.

My 2022 Road Glide Special is now owned by a guy just across town from me who I already knew. He posts at the other place, and posted in your welcome thread, so if you see the bike, you’ll know it’s him. “spooks"

We enjoyed a wonderful day with our Hog Chapter. There were 13 bikes counting us and three trikes with five of us riding two up.
The weather was partly cloudy all day with a 6 to 10 mph wind. Temps were upper 50’s early, hitting low 60’s in the mountains and getting into the low 70’s at home.
The group rolled out of Smokin HD at 9am and we waited for them to roll through Yadkinville and merged with them on Hwy 421 northbound.
We ran through Wilkesboro easy considering MerleFest was in full swing.
Our first stop was at the Hillbilly Grill in West Jefferson. It was my first time eating there. They reserved all the outside tables for us, we were seated instantly and the food and service was very good. I can highly recommend their cheese burger and thick country fries!
We call the couple above R & R. They live near us and got us involved with the Smokin HD Hog Chapter. Nice folks!
After a good meal we ran through downtown West Jefferson and headed over to Mount Jefferson. It is a beautiful ride to the top with many switchbacks. There was plenty of parking at the top and many in the group hiked to the highest peak.
On the way down we had a little excitement. We got down to the base at the four way stop and all but 6 of us had made the right turn. Ron, who was two bikes ahead of me stopped looked and pulled out. A with VW ran the stop sign. This guy never slowed down, rode Ron’s but honking his horn and went around him forcing him to the shoulder of the road. We were all pretty pissed at this point. We came to a red light and this guy jumped out of his car and approached Ron saying you F’n this and that, you pulled out in front of me! I grabbed my pistol as did anyone rider and we quickly approached to make sure he did not do anything to our friend. We yelled at him that he “Ran Through the Stop Sign”. He got back in his car and took off running only 25 mph holding us up from the rest of our group. Then he finally without a signal or anything made a right turn and was gone. He was wearing military fatigues and I suspect maybe National Guard. Had he hit Ron he would have been a dead man. I had him running the stop sign on video and we all had his license number. Be careful out there, some real jerks, and it’s all about them!
We took a lot of back roads down to the BRP, crossed it and hit a hard packed dirt road for about a mile, that switched to paved and dumped us out on HWY 18. We ran down to Wilkesboro where the group split. It was a well planned ride, beautiful day and we had a wonderful time.

Hog Chapter Ride continued
The Carolina Girl and I ran over to Crossroads and visited with Micah, Karen, and the others. Man they have the inventory of new 2024 bikes. The show room is full with more in the back. They even have the pretty orange CVO. The first one I have seen in person. Very nice bike.
How’s that for head and eye and clutch control! Lookin like a pro!

We took Hwy 268 over to Elkin and had dinner at the Angry Troll. The place was hopping and if you like a good pizza, this place is for you.
We arrived home around 7 pm. What a wonderful day with friends, on an amazing bike and enjoying it with the Carolina Girl.
