That is correct. I welcomed him to the sourh. He has a beautiful family.
One of his boys was standing in front of us with the "Sherf" shirt on. I saw it before I realized Shawn was at the event.

The Carolina Girl surprised me with a sweatshirt that I had admired on one if their YouTube videos. She said she snatched the last XXL they had!
The Carolina Girl loves her Christmas ornaments. She always has our Harley tree down at the man cave.
She has made a ritual of going up and buying tickets for the raffle. With this year's purchase we received two t-shirts, two DVD's, a pin and a decal.

It is a very nice bike. I liked the way it handled and it was peppy with the 114. The Carolina Girl as a passenger is spoiled and she just thought it was okay as a passenger.
Definitely an option in my opinion for someone that does not want a full blown bagger, or maybe someone getting older that wants a lighter bike with a lower stance.
My friends that have owned Heritage’s always kept them for many years and seemed to like them a lot.
Ride safe.

Saturday December 9, 2023.
Today was supposed to be a bright sunny 65+ degree day prior to intense rain tomorrow.
Our Hog Chapter had a ride planned. I wanted to go because we were heading to Pik-N-Pig BBQ for lunch and the Carolina Girl wanted to go because we were heading to Southern Supreme following and this has been on her bucket list.
A couple of things happened. Our ride leader went on the Friday ride that a lot of the retired guys do weekly and look at his tire below:
Needless to say he did not make the ride. Another guy stepped in to lead and did a great job.
But backing up we woke up at 6am and it was 40 degrees out. That’s 13 degrees cooler than we expected. Looking at the forecast now the high shows tone 55 instead of 65 degrees. There was now A slight chance of rain (30%) showing around 3pm. Okay we have heated gear and we are not afraid of a little rain.
We rolled out at 7:45am heading east on I-40 with our next stop at Smokin HD. When we arrived there were three bikes and two others arrived right behind us. Anyone else coming? NOPE
So the Carolina Girl was the only female and she was cool with that. Then we looked at the weather again and the radar and things were looking much worse where we were at, but not bad where we were heading. Let’s ride, I would rather be out riding with friends than sitting at home.
Our next stop was at the Eldorado Trading Post in the Uwharrie National Forrest for a quick bathroom break.
There were a lot of Jeeps and quads there today. It was busy.
About thirty minutes later we arrived at the Gilliam-McConnell Airfield in Carthage, NC. This is a fly in community and the restaurant is just yards off the runway.
Having never been there before I was shocked at how many people there were. They open at 11am. We arrived at 11:15am and every seat indoors and outdoors was full, there were 50+ cars with more rolling in and the wait list was already over 1 hour. Crazy, totally crazy!
It smelled great, but the decision was made to go to plan “B” for lunch because of time and weather.
Next stop was at Carolina Fried Chicken in Robbin’s, NC. While I was disappointed to not get BBQ, I was so impressed with the fried chicken at this restaurant. It was EXCELLENT! I will go back.
Following lunch we leaned left and rolled on down to Southern Supreme in Creek, NC.
The Carolina Girl was thrilled and quickly found $60 bucks worth of goodies to spend money on. They have every kind of chocolate covered everything, cookies, hard candies and are known for their Fruit Cakes.
At this Point we all said our goodbyes. Three guys went one direction and I led three bikes to Siler City and we took Hwy 64 west through Asheboro, Lexington and and back to Mocksville.
The Carolina Girl and I stopped at Miller’s Restaurant for a slice of their famous lemon pie and a cup of coffee. It was perfect and delicious!
Total mileage was 251 and we were lucky enough to out Fox the rain showers and arrive back home dry!
