I'm taking off in the morning for a three day motorcycle (first solo!) trip to Deals Gap from Nashville. Normally when driving this trip in my car I would take 40E and jump off prior to Knoxville and head south through Maryville via 129 to Deals Gap. But I'm wondering, because the 18 wheeler traffic is so bad on 40, maybe 70 east out of Lebanon would be a saner ride?
Any alternate route suggestions appreciated, also any other ideas on good rides besides the Dragon in that area?
