Default San Antonio in September

Hello all, I'm going to be in San Antonio in September for my Son's Air Force Basic Training Graduation, so the wife and I are going to take the bike down in the back of the truck. Could anyone give some suggestions on:
1. Where to load and unload the bike?
2. Places to ride in the area. (And possible between Northern IL and San Antonio)
3. Where to visit while there.
4. Where to stay?

Thanks much in advance!!!

Order the Butler Maps Texas Hill Country map. LOTS of good riding north and northwest of San Antonio. Google Twisted Sisters ride. One of the most popular rides in the area. Most likely in the Butler Map. You'll probably want to make it out to Luckenbach. Downtown San Antonio is a great place to check out. Alamo, if you are into history. It's in the heart of downtown. The Riverwalk is in downtown and is lined with great restaurants/bars. Good many hotels down there, but they are not cheap being in the heart of the tourist area. More reasonable in the northwest area of the city probably and still a pretty short drive into downtown. And you'd be closer to the best riding from out that way. Your wife may want to check out The Quarry for some higher end shopping. Good zoo if you enjoy that. The area just has a good vibe I think. Hope you enjoy your stay. I'm a native Texan. You'll find very friendly people here!

There is a lot to do in and around San Antonio, the last guy had some great ideas. Most Harley dealers will let you load and unload with their ramp, might call ahead to make sure, there are three dealers in the area, one is bound to help. I have used their ramp in other areas before.

twisted sister for sure. lots of places to ride in the hill country.
i'd personally stay on the riverwalk, but not sure how easy that
would be to load / unload your scooter. are you hauling it in
the back of your truck ? if so, you could just use the parking
garage of the hotel downtown.

Riverwalk/Alamo,, just walk it..

Twisted Sisters (Kerrville/Medina/Bandera/Vanderpool/Leakey/Camp Wood) stay in Medina Highpoint Resort cabins
Fredericksburg to Lukenbach to Bankersmith to Sisterdale to Kendalia.
Up to New Braunfels and Old Town Gruene and then up the River Road, Canyon Lake and over to Wimberly

In/Around San Antonio sucks on a bike..

And, oh, prepare for the heat! It can be hot in Sep in Texas. You will want to be done riding for the day by 3pm as Heat of the day is 3-6pm. Especially, if you have a passenger on back of bike!
