Devil's Den West Virginia
We are planning a trip from Illinois to West Virginia to ride some of the great roads in Devil's Den Route. Looking for things to stop and see-What roads are best and always looking for motel and bar-restaurants to stop at. So if you have any recommendations please share. Thanks for any info you could provide.

I'm from upstate PA, and discovered WV 2 years ago. Love it down there. I'd never heard of Devil's Den so I looked it up. It's further south in WV than I've ridden, but looks like it could be a fun ride for you. Sorry I can't help you any more than telling you you'll love WV ---- beautiful scenery, things to do, and not a straight road in the whole state! I know a couple of nice rides, and some things to do in the northern half of WV. Some WV guys here who'll probably chime in sometime.

I LOVE riding WV!! As others have said, there's hardly a straight road to be found anywhere.
In that part of the state, one of my favorite roads is US 52 from Bluefield, WV to Williamson, KY. Just the squiggly line on the map will give you an idea of what it is like:
Much of it runs along a river or creek, as in these pictures. It's more sweepers than twisties (but there are lots of those in WV), but it is a beautiful road to ride.

I took a 3 day weekend last year with a few buddies and left Pittsburgh Friday morning heading towards the Devil's den. The first night we stayed in Logan and then rode most of the Devil's Den roads Saturday and then stayed around the Huntingdon area Saturday night and rode home Sunday, roads were great. We actually took the Weston exit on 79 and jumped on 119 there and road it all the way to Charleston.
I have been to the Hatfield McCoy trails with my quad and sxs for years and always said I need to bring my motorcycle and hit some of these roads up.

We have ridden in this area the past 2 summers, a great area to ride and view some gorgeous countryside. We based our trip out of Princeton WV.
This is a great place to eat and maybe stay. It is intended for 4 wheelers but we met some folks on motorcycles staying there as well.

You can also find a lot of good information for riding that area here...

There is a BBQ place in Princeton called Taste of Memphis, absolutely incredible BBQ if you like BBQ.
Enjoy and have fun!
