I live in the Texas panhandle and have ridden rt. 66. Not near all of it, but enough to know that there are far better rides to spend you time on. I am in the naysayer column on rt. 66. Much of it from OKC to California is really just I-40 with a few side excursions.
I kinda enjoy the history/kitsch/ etc. To each his/her own.

There is a piece of Route 66 that goes through Amboy California where you can get this picture. I got it last last year when I was heading north from Palm Springs and did a desert run through Joshua Tree and Mojave.
Not to many places anymore where they put the Route markers right on the pavement.....

There is a piece of Route 66 that goes through Amboy California where you can get this picture. I got it last last year when I was heading north from Palm Springs and did a desert run through Joshua Tree and Mojave.
Not to many places anymore where they put the Route markers right on the pavement.....
