Wallowa Lake Oregon
Just returned from a weeklong trip to Wallowa Lake, 1885 miles only about 25 interstate. Highlights include Hwy 395 Burns to John Day; Hwy 7 Austin Junction to Baker City; Joseph to Halfway (Hells Canyon Overlook); North Powder to Sumpter (Anthony Lakes); Century Drive Bend to Crescent; Hwy 3 Enterprise to Lewiston, ID.
The best ride was Hwy 3, a 3-state ride that includes the Rattlesnake Grade, 212 corners in 20 miles according to my motorcycle map. Great fun.
The best scenery was Wallowa Lake itself, followed by Hells Canyon Overlook, Anthony Lakes and Century Drive.
I'm a lifelong Oregonian and the beauty of the state never ceases to amaze me.

I was on my way from Joseph for a stop in Boggans a week or so ago, but blew up my rear wheel bearing ..... so no time for Pie... had to find 2 bars on my phone so I could call StepAndFetchIt. I found it up on the other side of Rattlesnake Pass on the plateau above Lewiston. The only thing worse than blown up bearing on the side of the road .... is a blown up bearing on the side of the road without pie....

I live in the area, and I've been down that road a good 20 times. It's always amazing. Did you go on the tramway ride up to the top? $30 for the ticket, totally worth it, and a great restaurant and cold beer to go with the view!
Wallowa Lake from 8,150':
I can tell you were here recently...the debris field is still there from the flood, but the new local bridge across from Boggan's is finished! What little two lane road are you on in the 4th pic from the bottom?

The road up to the overlook was paved, but single-lane and lots of potholes so it was a little tricky, plus we were in there on a Monday so log trucks were running. The ride from the overlook to Halfway was more fun, still plenty twisty but it turned into 2-lane and the road was in pretty good shape.
