Last Friday Rideday of the season, was a bit iffy. Rain here and there, but I finally decided to risk a little Night Rod ride at 1pm.

The sun came out, so the bike csme out.

Clouds were here and there.

Rain was here and there.

I managed to stay dry. I did ride a few miles of wet roads.

Wasn't alot of miles, but they were fun miles.

I did get new O2 sensor plugs as well.

You really live in the RIGHT place J09. In 2 minutes it seems like u have a great ride in any direction.

Was that way for me in New England. Here in S. Florida, it takes "near" a day to see signs to the northern border.

Heck man, I may base outta your home for a week and enjoy them there rides.

Don't let CR base outta your home. (He don't wash his feet.) Can't catch me. Peeeeeooooooowwwwww...........

Beautiful morning, so I hopped on the Limited and headed west. I went to Savanna, stepped in the Mighty Mississippi and headed back home. I grabbed a bite to eat, grabbed my great nephew's birthday present, and headed to his party. After a couple hours of birthday party fun, I headed home...but not directly. We had dinner plans with my wife sister and her hubby, so I made sure I was home by 5pm. I cannot complain about today's mileage.

Ready to roll.

Glamour shot.

Standing in the Mississippi River.

Waiting on a train.

I rarely sit and wait on a train. More times than not, I just go a different direction.

Pretty good day.

Our dinner spot. No, we didn't ride to dinner.

What a nice 8 hours of riding. Mendota, Kewanee, Geneseo, Port Byron, Clinton IA, Bellevue IA, Dubuque IA, Galena, Savanna, Polo, Oregon, home. A bit windy, and definitely fall.

No tank top today.

Near Port Byron IL.

The most I've paid this year. This was in Cordova IL.

The Cordova sign.

Beauty shot along the Mississippi River.

Mississippi down stream.

Mississippi up stream.

The boat launch area.

Not such a beauty shot.

Sun was getting low, and i was 90 miles from home.

Nice day. The last 30 miles were post sundown.

I forgot my phone outside of a Casey's in Geneseo IL. Luckily I was only 12 miles away when I noticed. Even luckier, someone turned it in at Casey's.

I did put on my heated jacket on the way home, love that thing.

Hey j9, in your 1st PIX of the above post, I kept staring at ur bike. Colors, angle u left the handle bars / front tire in, etc.....then it occurred to me my friend, I have not seen a bell hanging anywhere. (Not that u always would.)

If u have a Gremlin Bell, GR8, if not, feel free to PM me your (or a) address, I'll get one if I do not have anymore around here and send it to you eh?

Don't tell CR (Canadian Rockey) about this bcs he gets them. Puts it on his bike, take a PIX. Then sells them on eBay. To date he has received and sold 122 Gremlin Bells (or whatever they are called.)

Fact is mate, CR really stands for Can't Ring like you can't ring a bell you don't got. to CR.

But really, the invitation or request to send you one stands.

Oh, one time, I sent Can't Ring a Gremlin Bell. He took that PIX I was talking with you abt, sent the PIX to me. Then he posted the bell on eBay. I accidently/coincidently bought it back from him. Honestly j9, you can't make this sh*t up.
