Good for you. If I don't get out for a real ride, over the next three days, I am not going to be a happy camper come Monday. Safe travels my friend!

We had a little rain on Friday, and I had an eye doctor appointment, so there was no Friday Rideday....bummer.

Saturday morning it was raining a bit, so we took the wife's Cherokee and headed out for a winery adventure. It rained for 15 minutes, at best. Turned out to be a beautiful day. I was a bit sad we weren't on the Harley, but we had a great time anyway.

Sunday was supposed to be rainy as well, but then they changed it to cloudy, and it ended up being partly sunny and in the 80's. I decided to get out the Limited and go for a little ride, before getting the lawn mower out and tackling the lawn.

I thought about getting the bike out again, after mowing the lawn, but I decided to take a nap instead....lol.

Thursday I took the Night Rod in for a new set of tires.

Friday Rideday didn't happen. It was nice enough, but I just didn't have the motivation to ride. I think maybe I'm losing the loving feeling. I did ride to my grand daugher's t-ball game, and grabbed a few miles afterwards.

Saturday the wife and I rode up into Wisconsin and road from Monroe to Whitewater, via 59. It was a nice road. We wandered our way back to Illinois on back roads, then grabbed dinner in Cherry Valley. From there it was a trip down the Rock River before making the turn home.

I haven't even thought about riding today, despite it being a beautiful day. One can't live on the bike...lol. Tomorrow is an off day too, so I'll most likely go for a ride, as the wife is spending the day with her sister.

Happy 4th of July....God Bless America......and good luck to us all.

Took a trip to Colorado Springs, 900 miles after being detoured in Northern AZ from the forest fires.

Salt River Canyon

Salt River Canyon

Southern Colorado

Southern Colorado

In-laws 40 acres, Rush, CO

High plains, east of Pikes Peak & Colorado Springs

Broken down off the I-25, throttle by wire died, limp mode only

Was a good trip overall but I had no throttle & was lucky to get off the I-25 in one piece.

If I had scenery like that, I'd have no lack of motivation, for many, many years.

Was good trip overall. Rear tire was losing air & even though I had a Slime air compressor with me it was still a bit unnerving. Then when the TBW started acting up I didn't trust her to get me all the way back to Phoenix. The family had driven out in our Titan so I found a Uhaul 5x9 utility trailer & towed her back home.
When stuck on the side of I-25 there I had read to disconnect the TPS & reconnect it & that got me the 60 miles back to the in-laws property.

Sucks but at least it didn't happen halfway out in the middle of New Mexico. It rained an awful lot so maybe that was part of the TBW issue. Haven't looked at it yet, read there was a 'fretting corrosion' issue with the first generation throttle by wire. Connector starts to wear groves in the pins or something. Will investigate maybe tomorrow.

It was a bit rainy this morning, and there was a chance of rain all day. I slept in a bit, and it felt nice. It wasn't until 2:30pm that I decided to go for a ride. The clouds and the sun and been trading places all day, and it hadn't rained in hours, so I figured it was a worth a shot. The wife would be home around 4:30pm, so I figured I could get in a hundred miles before she got home, and I did.

Other than riding home from the dealership, this was the first ride on the V-Rod with the new tires.

The weather isn't supposed to be all the nice over the next 5 days or so. We are supposed to go river tubing tomorrow, but 74 degrees and a chance of rain doesn't really sound all that inviting to me. I guess we'll see.

I just started my vacation. I'm off work until at least July 26th. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do, but I'm pretty sure it involves riding a Harley. That could be a day ride, many day rides, or a ride that takes many days. At the moment I'm not sure, but I have a few ideas. I know there won't be a Friday Rideday, but come Saturday, riding will commence....stay tuned.
