Wind therapy.

Yesterday's ride was pretty nice. It started off sunny, but turned cloudy after I crossed over the Mississippi River, into Iowa. I headed towards the Mississippi River in hopes of seeing some Bald Eagles, before they all left the area. I saw quite a few around Sabula Iowa, but getting photos was a no go. Once I was back in Illinois I went to lock and dam 13 and found the nesting trio, that have been there for years. Their nest got knocked down during the big wind storm last year but they built a new one, closer to the road. I was able to get some photos of the Bald Eagles and get in a nice so it was a great day. Next Friday Rideday I get will have more daylight in the evening hours, so that's a plus.
I tried imbedding some images, via the url, but it wanted to show the attached thumbnails instead. Not sure why that works at times but doesn't at others.
Here's a link to the photos I took, if you car to look.

Yesterday I did a bit of yard work in the morning, but come noon it was nice and sunny, no wind, and in the 50's, so I had to sneak in a bit of therapy before it was time to head out to dinner with the wife and her sister and her hubby. I just did a loop of curvy country roads.
The weather people are saying cold temps and snow is headed our way this week, so I'm not sure how Friday Rideday will play out this week. Fingers crossed.

Thankfully, the weather cooperated today. I ended up going north, to Black Earth WI, via many back roads. On the way there I stopped for fuel in Mount Horeb, where I may have had some peanut butter M&M's and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Once in Black Earth I stopped to stretch and snap a couple of pics before heading back south on 78. I took 78 all the way down to Mount Carroll. From there it was just whatever road tripped my trigger. This was the first ride into Wisconsin for 2021, but it sure won't be the last.

First day of Spring and it was warm and sunny, with clear blue sky this afternoon. I headed to Rock Falls, and stooped in at Workman Harley-Davidson's open house. I found my third bike....but if I want to live a bit longer I should listen to the wife....lol. I also stopped at the Chicago-Rockford airport and watched a small plane do some touch and goes. I also saw an Amazon Prime jet land, as that's an Amazon and a UPS hub.

Finished up the first weekend of Spring with a 3 hour tour....well, maybe 3 and half hours, but whatever. I rode down to Morris and headed back west along the Illinois River to Utica. Lots of bikes out today. I saw at least a thousand bikes.....most of which were parked at bars....surprise. The temp hit 69 degrees. I took off my hat and got some sun on my noggin. I never needed my heated grips or heated jacket liner.....woohoo.
The new Utica bridge across the Illinois River sucks, compared to the old one, as it has zero character. They don't build them like the used to.

I am 500 miles away from both of my motorcycles… But the Panhead got serviced yesterday, and it will be here at the middle of April, a buddy of mine is bringing it down… So I’ll have it for puttin around… And then I’m flying up in the middle of May to get my Eglide…
