Although it's a place to put on the list to go visit, most residents and regulars who ride Arkansas don't typically stay in Eureka Springs as a base.

I'd recommend Harrison which is about 40 miles to the east of Eureka. The 1929 Hotel Seville is a great place to base out of in Harrison.

My second recommended base location would be the city of Mountain View.

I've also based out of and recommend cabins at Petit Jean State Park, Mt. Nebo State Park, Devil's Den State Park, and Mount Magazine State Park. All of these allow easy access to great riding in all directions, but I think Mt. Nebo is probably my favorite because it is close to Arkansas Highway 7. Going north on Hwy 7 you can get to Boxley Valley, Jasper, and the Eureka Springs area. Going south you can get to Hot Springs and Hot Springs National Park area.

I agree Eureka is nice but I usually go to Harrison. Going in two weeks and staying in Harrison, will ride to Eureka but don't stay there.

I've stayed in Harrison Ark several times. It is very well centered in the riding area and is a very motorcycle friendly town. Almost all the campgrounds and restaurants have free maps with many popular and very good ride routes. One is based on this website https://www.arkansas.com/motorcycling/ and here is another but it doesn't really cover the better back roads http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Arkansas_79.html

Enjoy! Ark is a great place for riding!!!!

Eureka Springs is great. We've also used Mountain Home as a base and it worked well for us. We generally like staying in cabins and there are plenty in the Mountain Home area as it is right on Lake Norfolk.
