Winter Rides
We live in South Western Pa. and are planning to trailer the bikes somewhere down south for a week to ride. The question is where to go? We were planning to drive someplace that would take maybe 10-14 hours to drive trailering the bikes and sightsee a couple of days. I'm not sure if there is anything to do or ride in lets say South Carolina,Georgia or even Alabama. We would be going on our trip sometime in January or February. If anyone has some kind of ideas please let us know. TIA, PaUltraBob

January or February can be really cold even in Georgia. 14 hours would put you in Jacksonville Florida. Great place to park the trailer and head to the keys. You can pick up A1A in Jax and take that all the way down, with stops in st Augustine, Daytona, West Palm Beach, Miami, then the Keys. Jump on 95 for the trip back to Jax if your pressed for time.. I will be heading down for New Years and do that exact trip in 3 days.

Live in WI so similar issue here. I've checked temperature averages at many of the desirable winter destinations over the past few years, it's easy to do online. Easily the warmest is south Florida plus the ride from Naples to Key West should be on your bucket list. South Texas, Arizona and S. California are a little on the cool side in Jan. and Feb. Doable for a hardy northerner with decent gear. I rode the twisted sisters in south Texas at the end of Feb. last year and enjoyed decent weather, mornings in the low 50's afternoons low 70's. Rode in Las Vegas a couple years back in mid-Feb. with same temps.
Another possibility is flying and renting. When you add up driving/hauling expenses it might be tolerably more expensive, especially if you get more "vacation" time and less hauling time. Done south Texas, Las Vegas, Cabo San Lucas and South America this way. Cabo trip might be the sweet spot for weather and expenses.
