Default Ft Worth to Winnemucca NV best route?

Trying to plan a route from Ft Worth Tx to Winnemucca NV. Google maps shows 3 routes, southern through NM, one through middle of CO and one up thru Denver and access WY

Which one for best scenery?

Not a lot of pretty options for most people, I happen to like the desert. If you have the time these will take you near or through some pretty country in Utah like Moab, Zion, Vermillion cliffs & grand canyon. Either way safe travels, enjoy!

I would consider 40 to Albuquerque then either;
Flagstaff & N on 89 thru Page or 89a or,
up through four corners to hwys 70 & 50 west through Ely

For spectacular high desert scenery, route yourself through southern Utah. I70 is good but there are other options, too. Consider routing yourself through Capital Reed NP, Lake Powell, the Escalante Ridge, Brice NP and Zion NP, before heading north to Winnemucca.

To follow the advice of Michael Psyche, take US 287 north to Dumas, Tx. Then take US 87 west out of Dumas to Raton, NM. I-25 north to Walsenburg, Co. Then 160 west to across southern Colorado. This is a nice ride and gets you in position to tour southern Utah.

If you decide to cross Utah on Interstate 70, consider leaving 70 at Crescent Junction and head 33 miles south to Moab. Make sure you have a reservation at a motel in advance. Try to get there by mid day. There are two national parks right nearby, Arches and Canyonlands. Both are worth a few hours drive through. You can do one in the afternoon and the other the following morning. Morning and late afternoon light are best for photography and you'll wind up with some spectacular pictures.

160 or 50 across Colorado for sure. 287 is pretty boring but as you probably know, most of West Texas is anyway. i have taken 287 all the way to Lymon and it is 2 lane most of the way after Amarillo.
