I got packed up and headed west. Big wreck 5 miles out, so I ran back to town, got my room back, moved the reservation at Tok to tomorrow night, and will stay in and watch the Soaps. I really didn't want to sit in stopped traffic In the rain..... not like I am in a hurry.

So, it was a tanker truck that went over. Aviation fuel. Luckily it didn't catch on fire and the driver did not die, so I have been told. They closed the highway because of fuel on the ground.

I would be willing to bet that 80%+ of the Motorcycles up here are ADV's that are mostly heading to Prudoe Bay or Inuvik. On the Yukon website they plan to have the all weather road between Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk open this November. So if you want to see the Canadian Arctic Ocean, next year you will be able to ride to it in the summer.

Whitehorse is a very Motorcycle friendly town .....

So you've traveled thousands of miles & braved nasty weather, to eat at some of the finer dining establishments in the Yukon?? I thought you might be seeing some riders that went to the Dust to Dawson Ride which I thought was celebrated on the summer solstice but it was held last Thurs & Fri. up in Dawson City.
Stay safe, enjoy your adventure, man I wish I was there. I need more pics for my Alaska fix.

From what I've read, that Dust to Dawson run would have been a fine target. Great story goes with that event and a true cast of characters make it.

I ran into a few guys who where on their way back from that ride on the way up 37.

So, tomorrow I go to Toc and spend the night, and as long as I can upload, there will be some Alaska pictures for you GP. Instead of heading onto Fairbanks, I will go to Anchorage. There is a 2 day window Sun & Mon of clear in the South and Fairbanks looks good for the next 7 days. Of course, it's all a crap shoot anyway.

Looked up the very touching Dust to Dawson story from a post in adv rider a couple years ago....I swear, what a friendship those two had.
