Cleaning day. Darla, clothes and me. Went down to Canadian Tire to see if they had something other than crap for a dry bag, I am one short. They did not disappoint.... they didn't have one.




... I wanted the Dry Bag for my rain Gear. How is that for irony .... any X Miners out there will know what, and why, we call this .... A Dry.

 

Bikes clean, I am clean, and the laundry is in (I was right out). This motel also has a great laundry room. newer machines and several of them.

Time to catch up....

For some reason, te site doesn't like batch loading so I am going to try something different.




This was me ready to head out from Steward. All the gear, and me, in Dry bags.




Fueling up at Meziadin Junction. The rule on 37 is don't drive past an open Pump. The next one might be closed, out of fuel, or the power might be out. The other fellow I let pass me on the way out of town because I saw bear Sign a dozzen times, and I was hoping the Bears liked Japanese food more than American.

 

Bell #1. Grate bridges. Don't go too slow or fast. And a light touch on the grips. Fells like your riding on ice.



There is a rest area just past. You could camp here. But be prepared for mosquitoes. Lots of them.

 

Bell 2. Another Grate Bridge. And very nice Resturant and lodge. Rooms to rent. Not inexpensive.

Into the Yukon....

At the Junction of 37 & The Alcan. Fuel and good food about 60 miles West. Lots of bikes at that restaurant.



The road changes. 70 mph ( that is NOT the posted speed limit) lots of small pot holes.

 

Longest day of the year and a stat in the the Yukon to Celebrate Aboriginal Day. Big events going on in the park. I will head down after the laundry is done. Maybe catch a few pictures and have some Salmon for supper.

Never made it to the celebrations. Tomorrow I will cross into Alaska and go as far as Tok. Not to sure about cells and Wifi. I will update if possible. Weather looks to be breaking. It sure would be nice to see some Sun.
