I called Deeleys in Vancouver last week about an oil change and getting the alarm upgraded to A Squawker. They set the alarm aside and said I could get it installed by coming in and lining up in the Express lane. I went in this morning, it took about an hour to get to my bike, then about an hour to get it done. I had coffee, chatted with the crew and was on my way. Good people and great service! That's BabyRK on the phone.

Can you recommend the make and model of your "Squawker"? Thanks

It's the Harley one. It's about $100 US. Just plugs in, I think. It was recommended by my Guy and the Dealership back home and I just went with that. All I have noticed so far is that it beeps when it arms.

Here some info. When I was at Deeleys, I talked to the sales guy and told him about my FOB issue, and he said he has heard that from others and seen it caused by Cabs, other Motorcycles (why I think I had the problem in Death Valley parked next to an Indian) next to restaurants where the servers carry portable Cash machines.

So I am thinking this is something Harley needs to look into. It's not a singular event.

Default A Tale of 2 Roads...

Crap.... have to back to Cranny for a bit. So I will head out on Saturday and take two days. I have two routes mapped out.

One is North up 99 and through Whistler. Then up to 100 mile house, East through Lake County, north east to Jasper and then South through The Parkway and home.

Two is to head east on the Lougheed highway to Hope, up the Fraser Canyon, east to Vernon, and then do the twistys & boats & Kootenay lake road to Creston and home.

Decisions, decisions....

Both are good routes. A few of the roads I have not been on in a while. I don't think I have been up the Fraser Canyon in 35 years.

If you go via the canyon, good biker bar in Spences Bridge, (as of 2 years ago anyway) called Log Cabin Pub. I'd go up Sea to Sky (99) to Cache Creek, 1 to Spences Bridge, 8 to Merritt, good campsite in town there. Then on to Vernon via the Okanagan Connector then Hwy 6 and the rest of the way you know well.

Cheers, Peter
