Flew up to Cranbrook on Wednesday… Loaded up the last of my crap that was in storage… Headed back the same day… Walked out my front door at 5 AM & Put my feet up on the bed in the motel at 8 PM… Long day… no cruise control in the U-Haul so I had to dig deep and pretend I was actually a truck driver and kept my foot on the throttle…
… Thursday, I got into the U-Haul at 6 AM and was home by 1 PM…
… Yesterday, I unloaded the U-Haul into my storage locker, and dropped off the truck… it drove fine and the tow-haul option were it downshift’s the truck when you touch the brake pedal coming down a hill is a nice tool… Comfortable seat, good mirrors, and everything worked as it should… because so many people are moving out of the lower mainland up into the interior they’re short trucks down here… So I got a good deal on the rental… Pretty much paid for the gas which was about 350 bucks… & $700 for the truck all in…
… Nice to have that job done…
All the business records for 20+ years of operation… But mostly I went for the two wooden cabinets and my daughters snow tires…
Loaded and ready to head out…
Up in the Rogers Pass on Highway 1…
It was fun to play with the big dogs…
Saw one wreck up on Highway 5 … the Coquihalla…
Only saw one extended length unit … this was probably close to 90 feet long overall…

thank you… The road from Golden to Revelstoke is a really nice motorcycle road just not on a weekend… And certainly not on the shoulder days of a long weekend… Lots of crazy Albertans driving to & from Calgary to the Okanogan for their holiday cabins…
usually, I go highway 3 from Cranbrook to Vancouver… But it’s twisty and I did not want to take a loaded van through the twisties… Nice thing about Highway one and highway five is there is lots of space to use cruise control… As I said, I did not have that in the U-Haul so I was up & down on the throttle the whole time … which is hard on an old man’s ankles …😂

… the but damn near the ugliest thing I ever had to haul was one like this… I drove for CP back in 1980s…
A cab-over FreightShaker with a set of wiggle-wagons through the mountains of Southeast British Columbia… Show that picture to your brother-in-law… It’ll make him feel better about himself…

… Southern British Columbia on Hwy 3… Starting in Hope and finishing at the top the Kooteney Pass at Stag Leap Park… The song is one of the recordings on the gold album on Voyager 1 which is now 15+ Billion miles from earth on its endless journey into The Milky Way galaxy…
…in the eight hours that it took me to travel 400 miles… Voyager had travelled 320,000 miles…
