I sure like mine Jeff… Easy to drive, comfortable and if you put the lockers in and in low range, damn thing will go just about anywhere

Rats... oil transfer problem, I think... checked the Transmission tonight... after 750 miles down about an inch (30mm)... This is the second time... calling my home shop tomorrow... then the HD shop in Victoria to see if they can effect a fix... if not I will just level the two, and head home... I don’t want to head North with a known issue... Rats.

I just talked to the shop in Cranbrook… They told me to pull the derby cover on the primary and check the primary level... document it... Reduce the level to the appropriate height… Then measure the amount we put into the transmission… Document it… That will be good enough for me to be able to get the upgrade done at no cost… And just to continue on the trip, and just check it every time I fuel up… I have Syn 20/50 in all three holes and an extra quart of oil with me, so that makes it easy... My brother has a shop that has a lift so we’re gonna run it in there and do that today... once it’s done I will check the level with it on the side stand so I know what to look for by myself... So I head north to the next boat on Friday

I believe the fix (vent) came in the mid year 2019's. I have an early 2019 and it didn't have the vent. Instead of all the BS to get the warranty done, I bought the kit for like $49 from Harley and installed myself. Relatively easy. Plus where I am, I do not trust and factory mechanics, have had some real **** work done over the years. Good luck.

I popped down to the HD shop in Victoria and talked to the head of Service... he says as long as I monitor the levels and top up the Transmission as needed I should be ok to continue. So Off I go Tomorrow heading north...

I updated my site in the signature... and will do it again later today...

... a little taste

I started having the fluid migration from transmission to primary after about 9,000 miles on the bike. Made a trip to Tn to see a friend and noticed the level on tranny stick once I got to his house. In 500 miles, the level dropped below the measuring stick. I just bought a quart of oil and checked it regularly and topped it off until I got home.

Purchased the Greg Williams rod for about $100 shipped. Replaced it at my 10,000 mile oil change, along with all 3 holes. Sitting just under 20,000 miles on the bike now and had 0 migration since the GW rod was installed and checked regularly.
