I think it is one of the best things HD has done in a while. Good bike at a great price.

All summer extended rides have been put on hold... I am doubling the footprint of my Office/Classroom and will need to be here to oversee the work as I will be the GC... work starts early June and we won’t be moved in until mid to late August... so it will be weekend runs, and if lucky, maybe a week... so no Texas, no Sturgis... possibly a Sept run... but that’s up in the air also due to mandated changes that are expected in the courses.

I will... but this is a very busy year at work... lots of changes happening, and it would not be a good year to stray to far. As Jeff says, I will need more Friday Ridedays... maybe 3 Day weekends, and some camping.

Well, it is going to get quiet for a while now... I had a crazy week, found out on Monday that the Government was shutting down Road tests, which shuts us down... no road tests, no training... we all worked on Tuesday and Wednesday to see if we could put some programs together to keep us operational... had a pretty good one, but it would not fly with the students, so that did not work... we starting tying up loose ends, got through Thursday and all was done at the end of the shift... I brought the crew in this morning and we went over what was left to do... and by 1:00 it was all done... Payroll happened and all five staff where laid off until this thing is over... we are shooting for an early May restart, but will see how that works out... one of the things we did this week was to put into play and action plan so that when it does get going, we can hit the ground running with very little prep.

Now with California on lock down, I am pretty sure that the rest of the West will follow suit within a week or so. Once that happens, then it will be home a lot, but I will go into work on occasion... I will need to ride Darla down to do a "security check".

As far as Motorcycling is concerned, it is a sunny weekend, if not a tad cool, so I will ride Darla a bit and take some pictures... I put the insurance on her and she is good to go. Who knows what happens this spring/summer... I will have to play that by ear... but once we get back to work, we will be ***** to the walls, and will be surprised to have time to go on any extended trip.

A very nice sunny day, and warmed up nicley just after lunch... I went down the HD shop and chatted it up with Chuck for a bit... He sold one, maybe two bikes today... Then I went out for a small loop I like... Probably 30 miles all in... very few cages about, but out on the backroad quite a few bicycles... Not sure what the weather will be tomorrow, but I am sure I will go out again.

Only bike in the parking lot, not too many out either... I saw one other motorycle today, and it was a scrambler type...

...This is a panoramic looking East towards the Canadian Rocky Mountains... that is about 30 miles from the left side of the picture to the right side of the picture along the Mountain ridge...

... a regular shot and maybe 15 miles along the ridge... that is Fisher Peak to the left, and the Steeples Range to the right.

Well... i am almost all C-19'd out... so had to go for a ride... I suited up like I was heading to Alaska, minus the camping gear.. had made some lunch, because there wont be anywhere to have one... got some water and fuel... and headed out on my Sunday rounder like I was not coming home.. ever.. It started sprinkling and I never enjoyed getting water on my face more... the Sun poked in and out... and I stopped for a few picts, but to that in a moment... I ended up at Peckams lake, my go-to for my Sunday ride, and had lunch... then continued on around the loop... the last 20 minutes it was Sunshine and I was riding right into it... so a great finish... I only saw two other bikes, and they where in town... that should not be surprising... after all it is still the end of March and we are in the Rocky Mountains in Canada...

The Iron might be Idle... Darla was not...

.. on the way North from Kimberly...

... south towards Ft Steele...

... made a south towards Peckams lake... that's the Kimberley Ski Hill to the right...

... Peckams lake would be to the right... there where some folks in there, so I parked on the road to eat, respecting my Social Distancing Protocols...

... just south of Peckams lake... that is the Kootenay river looking north... you have seen this picture before... the river is pretty low at this time of the year...

... with Darla in the shot...

... Looking south towards the bridge... which I will cross in a few minutes from when I shot the image...

... once across the bridge, its a left and a right, and I am on Ha Ha creek road.

I will share my Happy Place... Please feel free to download and borrow it... It is in a Place called Norbury Park, and the name of the lake, which is to the right, is Peckams lake... the Mountains to the back is the Steepels Range of the Southern Canadian Rocky Mountains... About 45 years ago, I was living in the Vancouver area and came up to the Rocky Mountain trench for a holiday... we where camping in Cranbrook, and came out here for a drive... we had lunch... went back to the Campground, packed up the next day and headed back to the Coast... I went into work and quit the next day, put my gear in my car, and drove back to Cranbrook... and have been here for most of the time since... Peckams lake and those Mountains where what drove me here... I knew when i was sitting eating my lunch, it would be very difficult for me to live anywhere not within a half hours drive... also, the lake is where me and the dogs go when it is time to spread the ashes.

a nice place to enjoy a packed lunch... The lake as I said is to the right... nice tables, and a place to have a refreshing, if not cold, dip in the summer.
