Got up and headed towards Joseph. Last year I was directed to the Cheyenne Cafe and the food and staff ar excellent. So I came back again when his year. This is a great place to eat before you head into Hells Canyon.




Real food!!

The blue dot was where I started this morning in Joseph. You head south east through Hells Canyon and then west to Baker City, which is where I am tonight.

A beautiful sunny day, cool in the morning but warmed up nicely. It was a slow ridding day with lots of stops. I will let the pictures tell the story. ....

There is a big parking lot about 15 miles in. Must be for Snowmobiles



One of the few straight pieces of road



Into Hells Canyon



It's mostly this



Not just twigs you need to watch out for



Lots and lots of this



The colour is amazing



Up at the lookout



Twisty at the very top



Nice views

All on 86 on the way to Baker City after you get off of the Hells Canyon road





These two are from the Oregon Trails Interpative Centre. Very worthwhile diversion.
