Sorry it took me longer to address Route 66

Williams 40 miles west to Seligman. There is a Chevron and Shell station.
Continue Route 66 37 miles to Peach Springs
Another 50 miles Route 66 to Kingman.
Go past airport into Kingman.
Kingman short distance on I-40 to Hwy 93 to Hoover Dam

Rocky, you need to stop in at Westside Lilo's Cafe in Seligman. Very good home cooked meals in a family run restaurant.

Save room for the home made desserts!!

in Hackberry is a cool little gift shop right along route 66.

Have a safe ride

Avoid I-40 and take 66. That stretch of I-40 blows. I guess no more than any interstate, but you get the drift.

Oh.....and here in the US we don't say "The" 60 like you Canuks do. It's just Hwy 60.

Small switch-up, Bob....(Like, what are the chances of THAT happening, right??).... heading to Minneapolis to visit my eldest daughter.... I drew a straight line on the map and going to stay as close to that as is twisty... so back to Colorado, in at the 4 corners and out around Holyoke.

That sounds like a good route! All non superslab, mostly 2 lane with some 4 lane mixed in....and all good road! Some good twisties here and there, but lots of straight and flat. The eastern part of Colorado is mostly straight and flat though!

160 takes you over Wolf Creek pass into South Fork. 149 takes you through Creede into Lake City. 50 takes you into Gunnison and then over Monarch Pass. 24 takes you through Woodland Park, Colorado Springs and on to the eastern plains. 71 takes you north through Limon. 36 takes you a little further east and 385 takes you north again.

I can picture all those roads as I have rode them numerous times. Just watch your speeds through the small towns. Straight from CSP 5 over in the country gets you a pass, anymore and you might feed the bears!

There are some stretches long on no fuel, so just watch that. With your 6 gallon tank you will have no worries as long as you fill in the major towns.

And keep me updated on your timeline, I might be able to ride out and meet you along the 24 to 71 route. It will depend on day and my work load.

I've done those (Colorado) highways. They will be paradise compared to everything between Colorado and Minneapolis. My recommendation is to just get that stretch over with and slab it. You can run 80 on all of it without hassle.

If I-90 isn't too far north that is a better highway than I-80, it has less trucks and less traffic in general.
