There are several instruments.... all playing their own music.... the road, the bike, you, the music on the stereo, the river, the trees, the mountains, the road signs.... all of them out of tune with the rest of them, all of them commanding their own attention, all of them a diversion of what is needed, what is wanted.....

the first two that join together in harmony are the road and the bike.... they become one and the same... then from above them you join in and become one with them, you are no longer sitting on a bike on a road, all three are one and the same....and the distraction of the signs disappear and they are no longer present in the song and you never "see" them again ..... then the music lifts your spirit, then the sparkling of the river sets fire to your eyes, then from high above the Mountains become one with you and all the other pieces......, and it is no longer many things, it is just one, a Symphony that you are conducting... and the farther you get down the road, the further you get up the Pass, the louder the music becomes.... the louder it becomes, the clearer it sounds...., and the closer you get to the top, the further you are away from being out of tune within yourself..... and stopping becomes impossible, as you know you will end the Symphony of your soul far too soon....

... and 99 miles becomes not far enough.

... its just not far enough.....

A Run to the Sun.....

Big Sky Country....

... Big Clouds...

... just north of Browning, they took a beautiful piece of twisty motorcycle road and turned it into this... for motor homes...

... climbing up the East side to the top, the information building is a bit left of the center of the picture....

... the next two are just a bit over the top of the Saddle... Looking West and a bit North....I had to walk up the barricade to get the pictures.... took them quickly and had to get back to the other side of the road, as there was no place to stand there, that was not in the way of traffic....

... the switch-back is center right....

.... part way down the West side, looking back up towards the saddle...

... there was parking here... not as risky as some of the other pictures....

... quite a ways down, and looking back towards the saddle.....

... the road out, and heading West towards Lake McDonald.

I still remember the first time I saw the Rocky Mountains.... I was 21, and I was heading into Jasper from the West.... at the time I was living in Hope, BC.... we got into Jasper and headed South towards Banff.... about halfway down the Parks, we stopped at a lake, and I said to my buddy, “I must live in the Rockies somewhere”..... I spent the next few years in the Vancouver area... but eventually threw everything in my Car and moved to them..... I have spent a year or two at the coast, but the Rockies have always been a strong Magnet that has drawn me back.....as I write this I sit in my living room and can see the tops of the Steeples Range of the Rocky Mountains in Southern BC.

Up on a ridge in Rockies...

Bear and myself...up in the high country

I did not put a lot of text into the last day of my last adventure, as I wanted the pictures to speak for themselves....

Tomorrow is Canada Day, our National Holiday celebrating our own independence from England.... and I shall celebrate it by going for a nice little ride. Over into the West Kootenays. I will do the map clockwise, as I usually shoot up Kootenay lake and then back home over the pass..... It is suppose to be a Sunny day, so I shall set off early and I aim for New Denver for Lunch, then over the hill to Kaslo, and down to the ferry, then over on the boat, and down the lake back to Creston.... It shall be a glourious day, on some of the best Motorcycle roads anywhere.... If I am in range, expect "Live and in color"....

It really, really sucks to be you tomorrow, if you are at work....
