All these are from Craters. Plan to spend an hour or two here. Or maybe even camp over.
And climb this dome, for these views....
360 degree view
Life everywhere, hanging onto what it can.
This rock was on the top. They where all sparkly on the top, facing the sun.....
....and not when you flipped them over.
They trained the Apolo Astronauts that went to the Moon here. They had different vehicles though...

Heading towards Sun Valley, I think, or was it after.... man those roads are starting to look all alike....
Past Sun Valley, heading towards Galena pass.
Still going up
....still going up.....
......still going up.
Just over the top. That is the original road the horse drawn wagons use to use to get over the pass.
Looking back at the pass.

Well it was a great ride. About 4,000 miles, 7 States and 1 Province, 15 or so days, a dozen motels, a lot of coffee, a few dozen mountain passes, one over 12,000 ft high, mostly sun, and about an hour of rain. I meet a lot of great people, and a few no so great.
I have been home for a few days and have had a chance to look at the pictures on a computer monitor, and some came out decent. I still have one more trip planned for this year, but probably not on the bike if I go. If I go.... ya right .... IF I GO .... It is a three day concert in Indio California that features The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Sir Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who. Like I might miss that.
I love the Harley, as a matter of fact, I am looking at upgrading to a 2017 Decker with the new engine. I think I want a trunk, plus a few other bells and whistles.
Thanks for joining along this summer, and it looks like I put on about 14,000 miles or so.
It has been a very good year

My son bought a 17 SGs and I got to test ride it. Awesome machine both power and ride wise. He has had no problems in over 1000 miles so far but seeing all the reports of no oil pressure on many of these bikes, some straight off the showroom floor, I'm going to wait a year or so before pulling the trigger on one.
