Another Traveler
As you know, I lost my trusty pocket knife made in 1842 and gained a Panhead made 110 years later. Well, my daughter was in Vietnam about 3 years ago and brought this back for me. She kind of lost track of it and gave it to me a few days ago. It will now travel with me and Darla and I thought maybe someone knows a bit about it. She said American soldiers had them made and some stayed behind.....

My main chore in Vancouver is to get my youngest daughter WinterReady. Snow tires sorted out, better winter clothes, etc. Got her a good Goose down filled jacket and I got a $50 gift certificate. Immediate turned it into a pocket knife. (Also a multi tool, which I find useless and will give it to someone I don't like). I wonder if this knife will still be traveling 170+ years like my last one.....

I drove my 200c down to Vancouver "on the Paddles" (using Sport mode) on Highway 3 and let it drive me back (using the Self Driving computer crap) up the Coquahalla and on Highway 1 through Kamloops and Golden.
If you are planning a ride in the next bit on Highway 1, be prepared for a lot of construction on the Rogers pass. It took me 2 hours to get from just the West side to Donald. 5/6 stops, slow as hell and they are working in the snow sheds. I actually called my head instructor and shut down The Advanced Mountain Training up to the top of The Rogers and redesignated a new route for that day of training in the Iron.....There is also construction on the Choquhallla. Golden to Radium was beautiful with a he fall colours and devoid of traffic.
I have had enough of the driving from Kimberly to Cranbrook and will be moving back before the snow hits hard. The weather in the East Kootenays looks good for October so I will be doing some local rides on both bikes and parking them in about a month..... but my traveling days for '17 are done. Time to start planning my Texas/Big Bend run in April. And start gathering up parts for the Pan. I am not going to do the refit on her this winter. The plan now is to do it next winter.
Here is one pict I took just west of the Rogers Pass.....
