Buzzard ll I am in Linden On Apple Mountain where are you? What are you riding? I ride a 15 Ultra Limited Radio Active Green. I am planning a trip out west this spring. I hope any way. I was thinking of a southern route but that's not set in stone at this point.

JCR, PM sent. From where we live Rt. 50 is a good way to go, except taking the various bypasses around the big cities. If you have the time. I plan on 3 days to Colorado on interstate or 5 on Rt. 50.

By southern route do you mean the BRP, then head west from the Smokey's? I did that last year. Picking up the Natchez Trace puts you way south. That can be pretty hot after mid May. Louisiana and Texas would be sweaty.

Buzzard ll,
I am still open and searching options. Like I said back in the day I left Colorado rode all interstate to get back here. I had just gotten out of the service and was in a hurry. I am retired now and want to take scenic and fun rides to get out west. I want to see the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone then more of Montana and anything else I feel like. I am thinks 4 weeks maybe 6? It depends on how b I feel. I don't want to rigid a plan and want to just take the time to enjoy my bike, the ride and America up close. If that makes sense.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Just curious Larry,

Why not go all the way to the Atlantic (via NH and ME) or is there a VT stopping point that must be hit? Where in VT specifically do you want to be? I like the Rt 20 suggestion then pick up 7 around Albany to VT 9 or grab 22 in NY off of 7 and head N then jump off almost anywhere into VT. Oh, I notice you mentioned the national parks being booked up. You camping? When is the launch date?

Sounds awesome!

We are moving to Killington Vermont full time, so that is where we are starting our trip. Trip starts July 8th to August 24th. We have some friends going as far as Milwaukee to see the museum, and then they have to get back.

We are lucky. Have built alot of hotel points, so half the time will stay for free and the other half will have to drop some change.

Ah, sweet, Route 100 and Killington. Ski bum?? So you want to more or less stay up toward the North on the way out to allow for the Milwaukee stopover. Sounds like flipping my route over will do ( heck, ride 100 to 9 for the bonus warmup, I love 100 and do it every year bottom to top as my first tour ride typically) . Free hotels sounds real good.

We are very lucky. Getting out of the NYC jungle, and moving to our vacation home full time. Will be able to get lots of daily rides up 100, hitting our favorite brew locations along the way.

Larry, Vermont is such a cool state for riding. Have you seen this spot yet?

It is off the beaten path. It's in Westminster West but it is an interesting sign.
