Day Trip -- Lost River and Beyond
So, today was a perfect day here in the Mid-Atlantic region: sunny, pleasantly cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon, low humidity. If you don't ride on a day like today, why bother to have a bike?
I went southwest into Virginia and West Virginia. Friends from NOVA will likely recognize some of these pictures, which I took in the Lost River region and beyond, down along US 220.
Getting there was very enjoyable...I used my go to route of US 340 (and a bit of I-81), but soon turned west on US 48. The road was excellent, empty and scenic:
US 48 takes you across the Lost River. 259 S is a good option, but today I went further west and turned S on US 220. What a beautiful road! It's curvy in the best way, and passes through beautiful farm country and forests. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:
Lots of folks were out riding today...anyone else from this forum?
