Ride to Victoria BC

Ride to Victoria BC
Wife and I recently returned from a 2,538 mile ride up the California, Oregon and Washington coast to Victoria BC.
Followed highway 101 most of the way up the coast, Took the ferry at Anacortes, WA. The ferry takes you to Sidney BC. a short ride to Victoria. Canadian customs was no problem, just have your passport ready. They asked about weapons too.
We took two lane highways as much as possible coming home. Spokane Washington was our furthest stop east. Followed highway 395 south and then highway 26 in Oregon. Highway 26 is incredible, two lanes, very little traffic and fantastic sights.
Check out the photo I call the shoe tree. This tree is out in the middle of know where. Filled with shoes. People have been throwing there shoes up as high as possible for years. Some of the shoes look like they were pretty good. No sign, no reason, just something that started.
We had the time of our life. My 2014 Limited performed flawlessly. The only weakness in the bike that I noticed was the suspension. Two up, fully packed I felt like the suspension needed upgrading, I am going to do it.
Enjoy the photos

Just did about 3000 miles in the NW states; followed 101 from Anacortes WA to Eureka CA; what beautiful riding. Largest town we went into was Missoula MT on our way back to Alberta...nice to spend that much time on 2 lane roads, and there's more to see so we are likely going back for a third time next summer...and the shoe tree; saw that last year down there. Butler Maps has an Oregon map now; just ordered it...see what we might have missed
Also used a GoPro this trip; I like it but it's a steep learning curve for an old guy

Thanks for showing the shoe tree from 2014. It has collected a lot of shoes during this past year. You are right about the roads, it's the best. Glad you enjoyed the ride as we did. Hope to ride these back roads again soon. If I go back to the shoe tree, I will bring some shoes that can be added to the tree's collection.
