Apes in Wyoming
Hello all,
I'll be headed out to Sturgis for the 75th but I have 15" apes on my bike that come right up to or just above my shoulders depending on how I'm riding. I know that the LEOs out there get pretty aggressive with the enforcement of pretty much everything that week and I was wondering if anyone here has been harassed for their bars in Wyoming and what happened?

Wyoming law states, "handgrips below shoulder height".
So if...thats if...your stopped how is that being harrassed?
I dont know the reason for the state law but somewhere in Wyoming history someone must have had an issue w/ apes. Probably a biker gang issue from the 60s!
I have been thru Wyoming on a 18wheeler, car and motorcycles and not once been harrassed (including apes in 2010 coming back from Sturgis despite the "warning signs" at the state line on I90)

It is because apes higher than your shoulders are "considered" unsafe. I'm not saying they are or are not, just saying it is considered fact.
I'm sure during the Black Hills Rally WY does not want to put up with all those people "breaking the law". You kind of need a head start to control that large of a group of people.
