The Best Rides/Destinations
I am always looking for the next destination for a vacation trip. Below are some areas I have been, what places have others enjoyed?
Texas: Three sisters, Texas hill country (of course)
Arkansas: Pig Trail, Eureka Springs area
Tennessee: The Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and surrounding area
Nevada: Lake Tahoe, Reno, Virgina City and surrounding area
New Mexico: Cloudcroft, hwy 180, 152 headed to 180
Arizona: Flagstaff area, hwy 191 and surrounding area
South Dakota: Black Hills, needles, surrounding area (basically the rally loops)
I am looking at possibly hitting up Colorado (staying in the Gunnison area) for my next out of state adventure. What would others recommend?

Utah has some of the most amazing and contrasting rides I could imagine. For that matter a number of the Western states have great rides.
Route 66 into Williams AZ
HWY 89 Through UT
SLC to Jackson hole - SLC through Logan UT, to Bear Lake, to Star Valley WY, on to Jackson. Great ride
Mirror Lake highway (UT and WY) Goes through the High Uinta Mountains - May - Oct, otherwise snowed in.
Then the obvious - Zions, Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Monument Valley, Moab.
I've had a bike for years and live in UT for 30, and there are still places I want to ride.
Okay, maybe I'm partial, but this is the area I know about and encourage others to explore and enjoy.

Highway 2 and Highway 83 North through the Nebraska Sand Hills.
Surprising beauty. Had no idea it was so beautiful there until I rode through.
Pretty isolated. A lot of open road for just you and a bike. Great place to get lost in your thoughts for a few hours.
If you like twisties and running hard, it isn't for you. If you like long lonely rides in a place that you can be alone, it is perfect.
I just happened on the route going to Sturgis the year I-29 was flooded and closed.
One of the few places that made my "Must Return To" list.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is actually on my radar. I had wanted to ride it when I was out that way in Tennessee, but I just ran out of time. I normally have to keep my trips to 7-9 days at a time and from where I live, it is a minimum of 2 days out and 2 days back just to get to most places (averaging 500-600 miles per day).

After seeing some of the trip reports in this sub-forum, I may have to give Arkansas another shot. The last trip I went across the Talimena Scenic drive from Oklahoma into Arkansas and then North to Eureka Springs. Mostly back roads and the roads could have used some work. I may need to head more over to the east to find hwy 123 that I am hearing about.
