Never stopped there. Could be a nice day trip from where I am. Is the road OK & bike parking easy? Probably go up 381 from 40. Probably go home on 219, and would like to see the Flight 93 Memorial. Same question --- road OK, and easy bike parking?

I did that last fall. We were pulling trailers with our wife's shoe collections or whatever. They made us park in the bus parking area. My buddy dumped his Wing pulling a U-turn on slanted pavement in the bus lot. Anyway parking for bikes is OK. Pulling a trailer, not so much.

Now I wonder how old Frank got so damn famous because I would never live in that house. It's made for midgets. Oh, excuse me, the vertically challenged. The furniture is designed for the house and it looks like it should be in a grade school. If you sat in a chair (your not allowed too) your knees would hit your chin. As you approach take a close look at the cantilevered decks, They seem to be drooping.
As a design element it's interesting, as a home, no way. All four of us came away wondering, WTF?

Also hit the Flight 93. Very good parking. Went to a late lunch in Bedford, PA at a very old Inn at the crossroad of 30 and 31 (I think) Had the crabcake. Got food poisoning just about made it home the next day. I lost over 10 pounds in the next four days. It's got to be at least 30 years since I was that sick. You have been warned.

30 & 31 ---- Jean Bonnet Tavern? Heard of it, but never stopped. (I drive the turnpike frequently, between Bedford & Pgh.)

Geezr, Yeah, that's it. Funny I can't seem to remember that name, Jean Bonnet. I think those brain cells got flushed out with everything else. We were on a three day trip and at each meal at least one of us had the same thing until I had the crabcake sandwich. Stayed two nights at the Best Western in La Vale, MD. Had a great time. Hit Deep Creek Lake on the way home.I took 40 into 381. That is a very nice road.

I'm going to go up 219 to Bradford sometime this summer with some buddies for a Zippo/Case Knife tour. I plan on stopping by Kinzua Bridge while there. Last time I rode through the bridge was still in one piece. While I've been over most of the roads in that section of PA. and know the NE side very well, do you have any recommendations between Kinzua Bridge and the Lackawaxen River? I know we'll ride in through Leonard Harrison SP for the GC.

Anyway you should go to Falling Water just to see what all the hoopla is about. But I think his name sold the house and it's an interesting concept to look at. But to live in even for vacations, he conned them.

Went there in the fall. It was neat. Also went white water rafting in nearby Ohio Pyle, that was more fun.

Buzzard --- I personally don't care much for the riding in eastern PA, so I don't go over that way too much. The nicest riding is west of route 15 & Mansfield, in my opinion. When you go to the canyon, you'll go by the road to the west rim before you get to Leonard Harrison. It's called Colton Point. You'll see the sign on 6. In Ansonia. There's a bike friendly watering hole right by the turn, called The Burnin' Barrel. Thanks for the Fallingwater info. We'll have to give it a shot. Even if it's a disappointment, it's the ride & not the destination as far as I'm concerned!

Kinzua Bridge is pretty cool now. There's a new lookout at the end of the bridge, and all the steel is still layin' at the bottom of the ravine. It used to be an excursion train ride out of Smethport, and they'd stop at the bridge to let people out who didn't want to cross the bridge on the train. My in-laws rode it. They got off before crossing the bridge. Then the train would stop & pick those people up after it crossed the bridge, on the way back to Smethport. When you come down 219 from Bradford, you can turn left onto 59 east, and look for the small sign to the bridge.

Falling Water is not a disappointment. It's fascinating. I do believe the river is trying to reclaim it but that's to be expected if you building something like that. My wife and I went a few years ago and enjoyed it.

Fallingwater is a national treasure and a landmark to a man building things way before his time, or the time of the technology. Never a disappointment, we have been there three times in the last 25 years. Was there once on my Sportster, do not recall any issue with parking.

Now lodging and food in the immediate area were scarce, so I would plan on riding another hour or so after the tour to get to a more suitable location. That was almost twenty years ago that we stayed local, but I am here to tell you the area was so sketchy we rolled the bike into the room to make sure it would still be there in the AM.

Rode out there a few years back, I found it to be fascinating and well worth the price of admission. Been to the Kinzua bridge several times as well but not since they finished the observation deck. That's on the list this year.

Thanks for posting this. Even though it's only 40 miles up the road I haven't been there in over 20 years, I'll run up this spring and see it when the water's flowing.
