Thanks for the many mixed opinions. I agree with the fact that they most likely won't perform as well as many of the other bikes in this category but I bet it would still be a blast to ride! I am going to test ride one for sure when they come out and then I'll know if it's something I would want or not. Based on simply seeing a picture I really like it so far.

I'm a fan of the naked sport bikes. Better wrist angle and more upright riding position. I think the HD looks nice from what's been posted.
This is a seriously competitive market, so the question is where are they going to land. Just to toss out a few examples:
You have the budget FZ-07 coming it at just over 7k, which already beats the former vrod 0-60 that cost 18+, also the sv650 coming in at that range
Then you have bikes like the MT(FZ)-09, XSR900 that come in at sub 10K.. there's the Kawi 4 cyl Z900 as well. These bikes are putting out over 100HP. I picked up a XSR900 and the thing is nuts. Traction control, ABS, 3 ride modes, slipper clutch, all included. I ditched the stock exhaust for a street legal aftermarket and ditched 7 lbs on an already light bike.
For a few more ponies, there's the Triumph Street Triple, and getting into the 14K range the Speed triple..
Then there's the offerings from Ducati, Aprilia, KTM, BMW, Suzuki.. so many choices. So where will the HD land? I guess we'll see. My gut say it will be pricey, so if it does, it better walk the walk.
