Viking bags leak water !!!
Hello all,
I've been going nuts trying to find nice bags for my XL 1200c, ...
The Viking stuff looked fairly nice and I liked the shock cut out and
the fact the bag didn't hang a mile off the side of the bike.
However, .. first ride in the rain and had over 1/4" of water pooled in the bottom,
Everything in the bag was wet.
The corners where the top meets the bag and forms the "hinge" has no
seal and allows water in the bag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could easily see where the water ran in.

I've been through a few bags trying to find something nice that didn't cost
$1500, ... ....

Bobby,
Thank you for looking into this with me. I'm sure we will find a solution.
Here's some photos, .. 1st shows bags installed, .. and they do look damn good !
But here's where it all goes wrong, .. you can see where there's opeings to allow water in, ..

Thank you, ..
The front where it sticks up is one issue, and even if it didn't stick up
there's nothing to seal in that area. Same with the back of the bag too,..
not enough overlap of the top with the body of the bag to keep rain out.
There needs to be some sort of flap or overlap from the top in these areas
just like there is on the sides and front etc.
Again, ... thanks, ...
