I paid $502 for HD Nevada jacket. It has snap out liner, 4 large vent zippers, fits like a glove and has a pocket big enough for my .45. At 29 degrees, I am comfortable and at 75 degrees I am comfortable. When it gets hotter than 75, I wear a t shirt. You should buy what you are comfortable with, it is your money.

 

Paid 150 bucks for an off brand jacket and it really isn't that well made...zip in liner went bye bye the 2nd week....still...600 bucks is a bit steep....

 

Paid $250.00 for a HD Torque jacket off ebay...new w/ tags. Excellent quality, comfortable, and a good 40*-70* temp. leather. When it's COLD (below 40*) I wear a Wilson traditional "fonzie" looking leather that I've had for 10+ years...bought itlighly used (near new condition) off a bargain rackat a pawn shop for $60.00. Pocket linersare shelled out now and the non-removable insulating liner is starting to fray at the end of the sleeves but pound for pound one of the best jackets I've owned...I'd like tofind a new one just like it.

 

[sm=bling.gif]I found an old fifties bike jacket in pretty good shape at a pawn shop in Okmulgee Ok. last spring so I had to get a street bob to go with it. I paid 35 bucks for it. Then I went all out and bought a pair of used marine boot camp boots at army surplus for 35. Nothing but the best -I deserve it!

 

I bought two. One leather, and one nylon because I liked the leather one so much. Paid less than half retail for both of them off of eBay, and they were both brand new. My wife has a leather one too. They are all high quality jackets with quality armor and exactly what I want to have on if I ever hit the ground. I figured I would rather invest in the FXRG rather than a possible upper body skin graft. [sm=bangbang.gif]

I have a Harley jacket that cost just under 300 and it is comfy but is starting to get a little fuzzy on the cuffs and such after 4 yearsbut does still work good. I also have a very thick deer skin leather jacket made by JH Designs, it was given to me when I went on the Kyle Petty charity ride and is the nicest jacket I've ever owned. It will protect really well if I go down and is lined with a brushed denim/canvas material and doesn't have the satin slick feel but also isn't too hot if you leave a few snaps open---but if you want one like it, it will cost 1050.00. I wouldn't pay that much to buy one but it is a really really nice jacket----jack

 

So in other words, spending $20,000 on a bike and not willing to purchase a quality jacket because it's over priced?

 

I wear a Schott Perfecto jacket - 1.3mm cowhide, drum dyed (not coated).Had an HD jacket in the past & the Schott beats the hell out of it for quality & fit. The HD leather jackets are made in China these days - the Schott is made in the USA. The Schott is not cheap but it's worth every cent.
