HD luggage rack and Barrel Bag

HD luggage rack and Barrel Bag
My first addition to my 05 FXDI was an HD Nylon Barrel Bag and a HD Luggage Rack.
The bag lists for around $85.00 and the rack at around $105.00
The rack’s finish was pristine and putting it on a detachable back rest was easy and took about 10 minutes. However, after I put it all together and had it sitting on the table, I noticed the rack was bent. Not bent like it was damaged, bent as in manufactured wrong. I took it apart and measured it and sure enough, one side is almost a quarter of an inch higher than the other. The mounting holes and bolts leave no room for adjustment either.
This particular unit gets 2.5 out of 5 stars because of it being crooked. If it was straight, it would get 5 out of 5.
The barrel bag is pretty nice. Velcro side pockets, double zipper inner flap, plastic reinforced bottom on the inside, and two inside webbed pockets allows you to pack a lot of stuff in it for day tripping.
The bad part is the hold down straps. They are nylon and have the plastic pass thru and fold over clamps. There is two on the rear of the bag, fine… and one on the front, all for strapping to the luggage rack. The problem I’ve had is with the front strap. I loop it over so it will keep the bag from sliding to the rear. A good idea.
Unless the worthless plastic pass thru and fold over clamps won’t stay closed.
My remedy was to use an elastic hair tie to keep the clamp closed, which keeps the strap from coming out.
This bag holds a lot of stuff but, it gets 4 out of 5 stars because of the crappy clamps.
