I bought an old-style "zippers & pockets" type motorcycle jacket from www.leatherup.com five years ago and I'm still wearing it and loving it. It was about $70 -- I figured it couldn't be much good, but I bought it for a production of "Grease" and didn't care if it only lasted the run of the show. It turned out to be incredibly well made heavy leather. A real bargain.

I see they're still in business -- you might want to give 'em a look.

I like the Shift Primer Leather jacket because it's thick, has a liner and most importantly, it has armour (removable). It's more of a sport bike type jacket but without any of the "bling" on it, so you wont look like you're on the wrong bike. It comes in black and gunmetal. Check it out, it's cool.

Just got a Legendary Bucko horsehide jacket off Ebay UK. Nice jacket, but its not upto Aero leather standard. It just goes to show, you get what you pay for.

Vanson Leathers.....I have had a model B jacket since 1988, full hide ...zip out lining, two years ago the zipper on one sleeve had the pull break off, I sent the jacket back to Vanson...they replaced all the zippers...put in a new interior lineing at the same time, they also offred a new drum dying if i want it, I opted not too, like the battle scars on my jacket from years of use.All the top racers wear their suits, They are an expensive jacket upfront, but you will never regret quality. They make most all other jackets look pretty poor by comparison,

May sound strange, but WilsonsLeather.com. Jacket and chaps for a little over $200. And they work, trust me, I went for a skid in a Wilson jacket and it held up good. Ride safe!
