Are wearing headphones legal (car or motorcycle)? I seem to remember something about wearing them not being legal in Florida or Tennessee (or maybe Illinois, the state laws are all blurring together). I could be wrong. Regardless, being able to hear things around you while on a bike is pretty important to me. We got lots of idiots that run over people and just keep on going in South Florida. Guess I just like to have all of my senses about me when I'm on my motorcycle.
Besides, I paid good money for that Harley sound [8D]!

Clammy - I did a not very scientific test this afternoon and here is my suggestion - I compared the Shure E4 with the sony MDR-NC11 headphones and I gotta tell ya the Sony's won out. I used an iRiver mp3 player for the test. They sounded real nice with and without the noise cancelling feature on and they stayed in my ears real well- I found they didn't block the road sounds that you need to hear yet they cut right through nicely - They are going for about a hundred bucks american these days - I really wish you could do a try and buy so if you didn't like them you could return them - The reason being is that I ride a classic glide with the bat wing so I am such your results will vary but I still think the Sony's will give you a ton of bang for the buck - They give you a generous long cord and three sizes of earbuds to help with the fit. I inlcuded a link but do a search for the going price cause you can get them a third cheaper then listed here
