RE: Motorcycle Lifts
Newbie to the forum, Guys, but I also spent quite some time trying different lifts for my new Black Deluxe.
I tried the ATV/Motorcycle lift from Northern Tools @ $69, too high for the low stance of the Deluxe.
Also tried the Craftsman red and black ATV/Motorcycle lift from Sears @ $69.99 this week. Ditto on the height issue.
Then went back to Sears and got the all aluminum, silver and yellow ATV/Motorcycle lift @ $169.99.
The minimum height is 3 1/2" and raises all the way to 19" (skeptical about this spec at first, but true)
The jack is about 40 lbs and a breeze to use. The thing I liked about it the most is that it does not stick out too much
when I'm tooling my scoot. That alone was a great incentive for my shins.
Good luck and hope this was helpful.....
Keep the shiny side up!!!

RE: Motorcycle Lifts
Same lift I use.
I did have to replace it. A friend brought over his kid who I'm certain broke the 1st one by continuing to loosen the handle.. I think it just unscrewed something.. wouldn't lift and spewed hydraulic fluid.. I couldn't get to the mechanism to fix it.. The design has the unit very enclosed without some difficult dissassembly.. So I got a replacement ok but haven't used the new one yet.. but when I did use the first one prior to the kid breaking the stupid thing, it worked fabulous... Very stable. Worth the $169 I say. Too bad it's made in P.R.C. Well, otherwise it would cost four times the price.
Oh.. Welcome to the forum also.

RE: Motorcycle Lifts
I purchased a motorcycle lift at Lowe's about 12 months ago and it works great on my Electra Glide. I think it has a 1200 or 1500 pound lift rating and lifts 16" or so. I paid $89 for mine, but have seen them on sale at Lowe's for as little as $69.
It has the rubber covered channels that cover its lift arms; the one on the left goes in the channel on the rear of the bike when the lift is positioned under the bike.
