$130 HD Goggles Warning.
When I spent $130 for a pair of HD Road Hog riding goggles
I expected that they would be of a good quality, design and materials.
I enjoyed them a lot.
However, right after the 1yr warranty expired, they broke and became unusable.
I was always very careful with them and they were never mistreated.
I believe they failed due to poor quality, design and material.
And is a great example of intentional planned obsolescence.
The local dealer and HD customer support both laughed at me, told me to get lost.
Well guess what, every person that has a bike that I can reach can learn from this too.
Here's a pic of where the removable earpiece latches into the side frame.
Note the crossbar across the opening that the earpeice is supposed to grab.
Here's a pic of where that crossbar has failed.
Now neither the earpiece or the goggle strap will latch.
If this was a $20 pair of sunglasses
I would just think 'hey that sucks', and let it go.
But this is a $130 pair of genuine HD riding goggles.
I don't think that this should have to be an annual purchase.
I am so disapointed in HD and the way they have treated me.
They would not even help me get replacement parts.
All they would say is 'hey that sucks, but at least we got your $130'.

You think H-F-D had something to do with the way your glasses were made? They take a $50 goggle made in China, put their logo on them, then sell them for $130.
Want a H-D helmet for a fraction of the price? If you don't have to have the "HD" painted on it, buy one made by KBC. They manufacture H-D helmets in Korea, but you can buy the same helmet with the KBC label for lots less. (The rumor that KBC stands for Korea Bucket Company is just that.)
They make motorcycles, not eyewear. They couldn't care less about your problem. Hell, it's hard enough to get them to worry about BIKE problems. Chalk it us as a lesson learned, and if you want good eyewear, don't shop at a motorcycle store.
FWIW, I have a pair of $50 Body Specs. They have 3 different lenses, interchangable earpieces/strap, and a great gasket that seals out the wind. They're online.

You might want to check out these aluminum frame glasses. www.i-beams.com
I tried a pair on at a rally and they seemed to be very nice and look like they would be very tough. I did not try them while riding tho to see how good they block the wind. [8D]

I had a pair of WileyX's that broke in the same place. I own 3 pair and the ones that broke were probably just a bad set. But I super glued the band in the slot and use em for weed eating. You may have just gotten a bad pair or they may be junk, but normally I don't buy any HD brand stuff, usually too pricey for me.

Not that it really matters to this thread but HD helmets are made by HJC not KBC.

hell I buy cheap riding glasses allt he time for 10 bucks. They break in a month or get to scratched up. I then just buy another pair. If I came on here whining every time my glasses got scratched up we have posts about glasses like we do with ... WHICH EXHAUST!!!!
SO you spent 130 bucks and they lasted a year. Seems like great wear for any pair of glasses.
Hell i usually lose my Oakleys that cost 200 bucks before a year is up.....
