leather bag cleaning and conditioning
I used to use H-D leather dressing wax after cleaning and conditioning my bags. Now I use Meguiar's Rich Leather Wipes instead of that dust collecting thick wax, that offer no UV protection. The shine is better, longer lasting and once dry, doesn't smear . It also offers UV protection. I got mine at Wal-mart.

Robin,
You may want to try Doc Baileys at www.docbailey.com. I just tried it on my old and tattered chaps. Looks great now and it apparently waterproofs the leather as well.

I'm sure the product I was referring to won't help already faded and scratched leather! It has UV inhibitors to slow down the fading process, but once faded there are other products to bring back the deep black look and to enrich the leather. It's just easier and better than Harley wax on leather still in good condition, in my opinion.
You might try http://www.docbailey.com/ to see what they have to offer.

I keep trying toget someone to try Vinylex. It is the shiznit. I use it on all my seats, anything black leather, black plastic, floorboard pads, brake pedal, any black rubber. It is the best. For the seat I spray on a liberal amount and let it sit for a while, then hit it with a rag. It also has UV protection as well. I knowwhat about on leather as it is called Vinylex? Well, I have never had a problem with it. It works great. http://lexol.com/vinylex.html

I use Protect All on my bike for just about anything -- it also works great on my bags on my Heritage -- nice look to them, UV protection and super water repellent. It is also great for touch up work in between big washes. It just wipes on and off, dries clear. Nice stuff...

Bob,
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I haven't seen Doc Bailey's at any retailer in central Illinois. I have ordered it a couple of times from the website I listed in my previous post. The price is good and the guy who runs it even sent me an extra bottle because I supposedly won a drawing. I love the stuff.
