Anyone have any experience with the current wide tire kits that are being offered now days? I have a 96FLSTF and I want to put a wide tire on the back. The Harley-Davidson wide tire kit doesn’t work on my model year. I have heard all kinds of horror stories about other wide tire kits. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I am specifically interested in information about the Performance Machine Phatail Kit; it’s the most expensive and has what seems to be the least modification to your bike.

I like the price of the Arlen Ness and Santee kits but they want you to move the transmission, engine or something off center. I am not sure how that would affect the drivability of the bike.
