Diamond Plate
Anybody have or seen the diamond plate grips and footboards installed. I am having them put on my fatboy and was wondering if you guys have any opinions. I like the chrome look and wanted something different than flames or skulls or billet although it all looks good.

RE: Diamond Plate
Very true skip. My old man had the billets on his duece and if that bike sat in the sun for an hour or so on a hot day it was like grabbing an iron. I love the look though. I gather you arent much into chrome which is cool. I just couldnt resist. Different taste suit different people. Thats what makes being a harley owner so cool. A broad spectrum of ideas, opinions and styles. Some day I would love to have a old looking chopper black on balck. Untill then I will chrome out my fatboy. Dont worry Ill notify you of every new chrome part I add. I know you want to hear about it
Thanks for the advice on the footboards. I am not a skilled welder nor do I have the equipment but your advice gives me a good starting point.

RE: Diamond Plate
Glad you realized I was havin' a bit of fun with the chrome thing.
I'm not much of a welder, either. The floorboards I modified have no welding, just cutting brackets off, and then bolting them where I wanted. The brake pedal welding was done at work under the tutelage of a certified (and certifiable) nuc welder. But even that welding ain't necessary if you get one of the extended brake pedals. And there are kits for floorboards that move them forward. Often the kits are for non-floorboard models, but anything can be adapted.
