How can you say that it is one of the best investments that money can buy? Have you ever seen a pile of HD engines that were worn out because the owners didn't use that system to do a "100%" oil change? I've never seen one.

I also use the Scavenger system. Just like to get all the old oil out of the engine when doing an oil change. The only draw back is when removing the puck, residual oil leaks no matter what you do.

I believe this is just another way to make money. Not that that is a bad thing. But, really, the amount of "dirty oil" will not harm the motor since you are using a new filter which will clean it up any way. Save the money on the scavenger and buy high quality synthetic oil; your motor will run smoother and longer. BTW, BMW cars typically go for over 150-200,000 miles; using synthetic oil and no scavenging system. MHO

That's right but BMW doesn't leave 20% of it's dirty oil in the engine. Those vehicals have as much as 6, 7, or even 8 qt. capasities. These TC motors have about 24-28oz. left inside after an oil change. And yes I do use Mobil 1 in all 3 holes.

If you've got nearly a quart laying in the sump of your TC, you've got problems. There should be no more than about 8 oz or so in there. If there is more, you likely will be experience power loss from flywheels dragging. To fix it, you will need to be looking for leaking o-rings behind the cam support plate.

If your TC says it holds 4 quarts with the filter and you drain your oil and refill, you are going to have almost a quart of new oil left over if indeed there is that much oil left in the sump. I have never had that problem. 4 quarts or 3 quarts or 5 quarts depending on the bike including the vrod is what they always took. You know, in the end, if it makes you feel "gooder" than I say do it!
