Default Throw Overs??

OK, as much as I am hesitant to do this, I know I'm going to need them sooner or later. I have a few trips planned this year and I'm going to need bags. I've already ordered my WINDVEST (Removable) Screen. I will not use them while riding local, so...I'm looking for a NICE LOOKING set of removable bags, preferably throw over that I can use on long road trips. Something that I can take with me when I park or go into a hotel room. They do not have to be big as I will travel light. The other option is for me to wear a back pack [sm=nono.gif]

Looking for suggestions, ideas and feedback.

I know exactly what you mean. Currently use a back pack, but that looks pretty stupid. I have and 04 Sporty and don't think bags would look right. I have a sissy bar and another option I'm exploring is a bag that slips over it.

Remember that throw-over bags have a tendency to rub the swingarm, and other moving things. That means you'll need the brackets mounted on the fender struts. And they are oogly when you don't have the bags on. You can get away without the brackets for awhile, but eventually the bags will get rubbed through, and whatever they are contacting will get its finish damaged, be it chrome or paint.

Look into some Ghost Brackets, Barebacks, or similar quick detachable mounts. They ain't cheap, but they allow you to remove your bags, and are barely noticeable when the bags are off.

Keep a look on eBay too. I don't like the wear/problems of throw overs. THere are many '03 "gold Key Kits" which are either full kits , or partials from the huge accessory sale HD did in '03. You may be happy with a set of standard ags with quick disconnects.

Check out

The bags look great and are inexpensive.
