Default iPod Nano--everyone should have one

Just got the 2gb iPod Nano a few days ago. Have about 200 of my all time favorite songs in it. Did a 200+ mile ride over this last weekend and it performed flawlessly. It has flash memory so you could put it in a paint shaker (literally) and it wouldn't skip!!
I bet you could fit 3 of these in a pack of smokes. They are that small. Truly amazing.
The earbuds they give you are foam covered and won't block out any outside noise. I got the rubber covered iPod earbuds that do seal out the background noise. They seem about the same as a pair of regular earplugs, as far as background noise goes. I realize it is not legal in some/most places to ride with headphones, earbuds, etc. California only allows one speaker or earbud...oh well.
They pop right out so if I need to get them out of my ears I can do it pretty quickly. I used to ride 100% of the time with hearing protection ear plugs so that is technically illegal as well.
For me, the music takes an already awesome motorcycle riding experiance and takes it off the charts... Once again, it only has my favorite songs so every next song is great. Makes the miles fly by.

How loud did you have the volume to overcome the wind noise?

Cheers!

Apple's been having problems with the screens. How has yours been holding up?

I have the volume about 75%. The optional rubber earbuds really cut out the background noise. Haven't heard anything about the screens and I've been playing mine all day, everyday since I got it. So far, so good.

I heard that Apple is replacing the screens for those that need it, not sure how to go about it, Apple's site should have info. The new ones are supposed to be fixed (tougher plastic or something like that)

can you hook one into an intercom system? I'm thinking about getting a portable intercom.

The Nano has a standard earphone jack--same size as any other portable device, I believe. You would need to get a cord to go from the Ipod earphone jack into your intercom.

There are also FM modulators sold by Apple and others that plug into your unit and transmit to your radio on a preset FM frequency. i just bought the Ipod 2gig and a maxell FM modulator for the girlfriend for Xmas. The Modulator was $39.95 Cdn. Just tun it on and drop it in you pocket.

What song could be better than that of a Harley V-Twin going down the road?
