Default Rear wheel spin; neutral

Clutch adjustment problem I think. Bike is on the lift as I have changed cables to longer ones for ape's I have installed. When I fired up the bike, in Neutral, the rear wheel spins a little....when I engage the clutch it stops...is this an adjustment I need to make and how or where do I adjust the clutch....cable? or actual clutch behind derby cover?

Loosen the clutch cable so there is alot of slack in it. Then adjust the clutch at the unit itself. Tighten the nut just enough until you can feel tension there. Then adjust the clutch cable. If it is still out of adjustment.....keep adjusting.

I have also seen a few bikes on a lift where the clutch cable was being smashed as well. It was somehow putting the cable in a bind, not allowing the clutch to operate properly.

These are things to think about......
